Fan Sets ‘Joker’ Screen Test Music Over ‘Birds Of Prey’ Footage

In case you were wondering, yes the music set over Joker screen test from last year tonally fits over the recently released screen test footage for the upcoming Birds of Prey film.

This discovery comes to us via Bigdaddydoubled on Reddit, who put together a rather simple yet amusing mashup of the two films’ screen tests. To be more specific, the fan-made video sets the recently released screen test footage of Birds of Prey to The Guess Who’s hit song Laughing, which was used late last year over the released test footage for Todd Phillips’s forthcoming Joker standalone film.

Warner Bros. seems to be telling us that Joker will be a gritty crime movie and that Birds of Prey will be a more upbeat crime romp. Regardless, the same song tonally seems to fit over both. Is that a credit to the single unifying vision behind these films? Or do the two properties simply lend themselves to a similar aesthetic?

Fan-made: The Joker screen test music also works really well over the Birds of Prey screen test from DC_Cinematic

What do you think? Does the song from Joker teaser work for both screen tests? Or do you think it sort of alters the original tone of the Birds of Prey screen test footage? Hit us up with your thoughts in the comments section below!

The Clown Prince of Crime will appear in Joker starring Joaquin Phoenix in the titular role.

“Joker” centers around the iconic arch nemesis and is an original, standalone story not seen before on the big screen. Phillips’ exploration of Arthur Fleck (Phoenix), a man disregarded by society, is not only a gritty character study, but also a broader cautionary tale.

Directed by Todd Phillips from a script he co-wrote with Scott Silver, Joker stars Joaquin Phoenix, Zazie Beetz, Bill Camp, Frances Conroy, Brett Cullen, Glenn Fleshler, Douglas Hodge, Marc Maron, Josh Pais, and Shea Whigham.

Joker will be released in theaters on October 4, 2019.
