A fan has combined the footage of Joaquin Phoenix as Arthur Fleck and the Joker featured in Todd Phillips’ test footage.

Last week, Joker director Todd Phillips unveiled the first official footage of Joaquin Phoenix in full makeup as the Clown Prince of Crime. The video featured Joaquin Phoenix as Arthur Fleck while footage of his villainous alter-ego was seen flashing in the background. Now, a Reddit user has stitched the footage of Joaquin Phoenix’s Arthur Fleck together with footage of the Joker to reveal an eerie image of the classic Batman villain in his purple suit and orange vest standing in front of curtains.

Discussion: Haven’t seen any attempts to do this, so here is my attempt at stitching together the “flash” footage in the Joker video. Reveals a purple jacket and orange vest, curtains from r/DC_Cinematic

“Joker” centers around the iconic arch nemesis and is an original, standalone story not seen before on the big screen. Phillips’ exploration of Arthur Fleck (Phoenix), a man disregarded by society, is not only a gritty character study, but also a broader cautionary tale.

Directed by Todd Phillips from a script he co-wrote with Scott Silver, Joker stars Joaquin Phoenix, Zazie Beetz, Bill Camp, Frances Conroy, Brett Cullen, Glenn Fleshler, Douglas Hodge, Marc Maron, Josh Pais, and Shea Whigham.

Joker will be released in theaters on October 4, 2019.
