Digital artist Bryan Fiallos recreated the cover of The Killing Joke with Joaquin Phoenix’s Joker.
Warner Bros. and DC’s upcoming Joker is set to deliver a new take on the origins of the classic villain that director Todd Phillips recently said won’t follow anything from the comics. Of course, fans have still noticed apparent similarities between Joaquin Phoenix’s Joker and the version of the Clown Prince of Crime seen in Alan Moore’s Batman: The Killing Joke graphic novel.
Among those fans making comparisons between Joaquin Phoenix’s Joker and The Killing Joke version is digital artist Bryan Fiallos. In fact, Fiallos took the liberty of recreating the iconic Killing Joke cover with Joaquin Phoenix’s Joker in place of the comic book version.

“Joker” centers around the iconic arch nemesis and is an original, standalone story not seen before on the big screen. Phillips’ exploration of Arthur Fleck (Phoenix), a man disregarded by society, is not only a gritty character study, but also a broader cautionary tale.
Directed by Todd Phillips from a script he co-wrote with Scott Silver, Joker stars Joaquin Phoenix, Zazie Beetz, Bill Camp, Frances Conroy, Brett Cullen, Glenn Fleshler, Douglas Hodge, Marc Maron, Josh Pais, and Shea Whigham.
Joker will be released in theaters on October 4, 2019.
