Joker star Joaquin Phoenix and Rooney Mara are expecting their first child together.
Joaquin Phoenix and The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo star Rooney Mara are expecting their first child according to Page Six. The outlet reported that their inside source confirmed the news after Mara was spotted wearing baggy clothes to hide her bump. Mara was set to appear in Guillermo Del Toro’s next movie, Nightmare Alley, before it was halted by Disney due to the current pandemic.
Page Six also reported that Mara might be as far along as six months into her pregnancy, although this isn’t confirmed as apparently representatives for the pair refused to comment on the news. Phoenix will next star in A24’s C’mon C’mon, which will see him portray an artist travelling across the country with his young nephew.

Here is the official synopsis for Joaquin Phoenix’s Joker:
Director Todd Phillips “Joker” centers around the iconic arch nemesis and is an original, standalone fictional story not seen before on the big screen. Phillips’ exploration of Arthur Fleck, who is indelibly portrayed by Joaquin Phoenix, is of a man struggling to find his way in Gotham’s fractured society. A clown-for-hire by day, he aspires to be a stand-up comic at night…but finds the joke always seems to be on him. Caught in a cyclical existence between apathy and cruelty, Arthur makes one bad decision that brings about a chain reaction of escalating events in this gritty character study.
Directed by Todd Phillips from a script he co-wrote with Scott Silver, Joker stars Joaquin Phoenix, Robert De Niro, Zazie Beetz, Bill Camp, Frances Conroy, Brett Cullen, Glenn Fleshler, Douglas Hodge, Marc Maron, Josh Pais, and Shea Whigham.
Joker is now available on Digital HD, Ultra HD Blu-ray, Blu-ray, and DVD. Stay tuned for all the latest news on Joker and the character’s future in the DC Universe and be sure to check out and subscribe to Heroic Hollywood’s YouTube account for more great content.
