New set photos from Todd Philips’ Joker offer another look at Joaquin Phoenix’s Arthur Fleck alongside co-stars Glenn Fleshler and Bryan Callen.
The first set photos for Philips’ Joker surfaced over the weekend and the director went on to share the first official image of Phoenix’s character. Principal photography continues in New York City and Just Jared has offered another look at Arthur, Fleshler’s clown character, and the first look at Callen’s character. Callen confirmed back in July that he will be playing a stripper in the film. The new images take place at the same Amusement Mile location first glimpsed from the first batch of set pictures. Todd Phillips directs from a script he co-wrote with Scott Silver (The Fighter). The film is being produced by Phillips and Bradley Cooper under their Joint Effort banner, and Emma Tillinger Koskoff. Richard Baratta, Joseph Garner and Bruce Berman serve as executive producers.
The film stars Joaquin Phoenix, Zazie Beetz, Bill Camp, Frances Conroy, Bryan Callen, Glenn Fleshler, Douglas Hodge, Marc Maron, Josh Pais, and Shea Whigham.
“Joker centers around the iconic arch nemesis and is an original, standalone story not seen before on the big screen. Phillips’ exploration of Arthur Fleck (Phoenix), a man disregarded by society, is not only a gritty character study, but also a broader cautionary tale.”
Joker hits theaters October 4, 2019.
