In a recent post, Joker director, Todd Philips, gave us our first official look at Zazie Beetz character, Sophie Dumond, in the upcoming film.
The post in question didn’t reveal much. It is simply a picture of the character looking rather depressed in a sweater. The caption for the photo revealed how excited Todd Philips was to be working with Zazie Beetz:
So excited to be working with @zaziebeetz. Joker. ?@nikotavernise

This images comes after the test footage for Joaquin Phoenix as The Joker surfaced online as well as a series of leaked set photos that showed him in a subway. Unfortunately, none of the images doesn’t reveal who Beetz’s character might be in the film. Sadly this applies to the plot of the film, as details for it have been kept under wraps and are hard to come by. All that is known is that the film will be focused on how he became the Clown Prince of Crime and is rumored to be, at least in part, to be based on Alan Moore’s 1988 comic, The Killing Joke.
Who do you think Zazie Beetz will be playing in Joker? Will she been the Joker’s wife as depectied in The Killing Joke? Perhaps another DC character? Will she be an original character, created exclusively for the film? Let us know what you think in the comments below!
