Marvel Cinematic Universe fans are in for a treat as actor Jon Bernthal is set to reprise his role as The Punisher in the upcoming Disney Plus series Daredevil: Born Again. The actor confirmed his return as Frank Castle on his official Instagram page, teasing his appearance in the new Daredevil series.
Taking to his Instagram page, John Bernthal announced that he is back as The Punisher with a photo of the character in action. The 46-year-old actor also shared a clip on the official “Real Ones With Jon Bernthal” YouTube channel, titled “Frank Castle is back.”
The casting of Jon Bernthal marks a reunion for him and Charlie Cox, who were last seen together in Marvel’s Netflix shows. The duo’s chemistry was one of the highlights of Daredevil season two and fans have been clamoring for their reunion ever since the show’s cancellation in 2018.
What to expect from the new Daredevil series
Little is known of Daredevil: Born Again, with plot details being kept under wraps. Margarita Levieva, Sandrine Holt and Michael Gandolfini are set to appear in the series opposite Charlie Cox and Vincent D’Onofrio. Matt Corman and Chris Ord are writing and executive producing for Marvel.
Unfortunately for fans of Elden Henson’s Foggy Nelson and Deborah Ann Woll’s Karen Page, it has been confirmed that neither character will be returning for Daredevil: Born Again. The news has been met with disappointment from fans, as both characters played significant roles in the original Netflix series. However, it’s important to remember that the series is still in its early stages, and there’s always a chance that the characters could make a surprise appearance in future seasons.
