It was made very clear in Captain America: Civil War that Tony Stark and Peter Parker would develop a mentor-student relationship that will surely blossom throughout Spider-Man: Homecoming. As seen in Civil War, Tony Stark has designed and built a new, hi-tech Spider-Man suit for Peter and the post credits tag teased some new features we didn’t see during the airport battle scene. While at San Diego Comic-Con this past weekend, Jon Watts teased there could be more to the suit because of its designer.
“Well, the suit that spidey was given in Civil War is a Stark suit, so you have to wonder with a Stark suit, what else can it do?”
A lot of Spidey-fans are desperate to see the “spider-tracers” an important bit of tech Spider-Man has always used in the comics. There are many other features that could hark back to past Spider-Man storylines, such as, night vision, camoflage, a built in camera, or even being bulletproof.
Spider-Man: Homecoming is being directed by Jon Watts (Cop Car and Clown), and based on a script by John Francis Daley and Jonathan M. Goldstein (Horrible Bosses and Vacation) . The cast features Tom Holland as Spider-Man/Peter Parker, Marisa Tomei as Aunt May, and Robert Downey Jr. as Tony Stark/Iron Man. It also includes Michael Keaton, Zendaya, Donald Glover, Martin Starr, Laura Harrier, Kenneth Choi, Michael Barbieri, Bokeem Woodbine and Logan Marshall-Green.
Spider-Man: Homecoming will be released on July 7, 2017.
