In celebration of April 4, also known as 4/4 Day, Marvel has released a promotional poster for The Fantastic Four, featuring Stranger Things breakout Joseph Quinn as Johnny Storm, a.k.a. Human Torch. The poster, created by Ryan Meinerding, Head of Visual Development at Marvel Studios, showcases Quinn’s Human Torch look, a huge surprise given that the Fantastic Four reboot doesn’t begin production until Summer 2024.
In the pages of Marvel comics, Johnny is the brother of Sue Storm (AKA The Invisible Woman) and possesses the ability to engulf his body in flames and fly at superhuman speeds. Chris Evans previously played the character in the two Fantastic Four movies from Tim Story.
What we know about the Fantastic Four movie
Marvel Studios recently announced the cast for its Fantastic Four reboot, setting the stage for a new era of MCU adventures. Stepping into the roles of the beloved superhero team are Pedro Pascal as Reed Richards, Vanessa Kirby as Sue Storm, Ebon Moss-Bachrach as Ben Grimm, and Joseph Quinn as Johnny Storm.
The Fantastic Four characters were created by Stan Lee and Jack Kirby, with the team making its first comic book appearance in 1961. The previous Fantastic Four movies, while popular, were not well-received by fans or critics, and Marvel Studios has an opportunity to right the wrongs of the past and deliver a feature that is true to the spirit of the comics.
Behind the scenes, The Fantastic Four will be brought to life under the direction of Matt Shakman, with Josh Friedman writing the screenplay. With production slated to begin in summer 2024, Marvel fans can look forward to the film’s journey to theaters in July 2025, marking a new chapter in the MCU.
Fantastic Four opens on July 25, 2025. Stay tuned for all the latest news regarding the future of the Marvel Cinematic Universe and make sure to subscribe to our YouTube channel for more content!
