Director Josh Boone has shared a photo from a recent screening for The New Mutants with the film’s cast.
With marketing ramping up, it looks like The New Mutants is finally going to hit theaters. There was some doubt since the film got caught in the middle of Disney’s acquisition of 20th Century Fox. This resulted in the rights for the X-Men franchise reverting back to Marvel Studios.
Josh Boone’s The New Mutants will have no ties to the MCU, but will instead serve as the last X-Men film before the Mutants are integrated into the MCU. Over the last few years, many of The New Mutants cast have been unsure about what was happening to Josh Boone’s film. Now that the film is looking like it will finally be released in theaters, The New Mutants cast has finally seen the film. Here is the synopsis for The New Mutants:
20th Century Fox in association with Marvel Entertainment presents “The New Mutants,” an original horror thriller set in an isolated hospital where a group of young mutants is being held for psychiatric monitoring. When strange occurrences begin to take place, both their new mutant abilities and their friendships will be tested as they battle to try and make it out alive.
Directed by Josh Boone from a script he co-wrote with Knate Lee, The New Mutants stars Maisie Williams, Anya Taylor-Joy, Charlie Heaton, Alice Braga, Blu Hunt, and Henry Zaga.
