New concept art shows off what the Fantasticar would’ve looked like in Josh Trank’s Fantastic Four.
Although fans and critics alike despised the 2015 gritty reboot of the Fantastic Four from director Josh Trank, it’s hard not to be interested in his original vision for Marvel’s First Family. Fox wasn’t happy with the direction Trank took with the team, and decided to give Simon Kinberg the chance to be in charge of the reshoots. However, the original plot for the film saw Miles Teller’s Mr. Fantastic use a realistic version of the Fantasticar that he’d built himself.
Concept art from the film recently surfaced on Instagram thanks to Ryan Unicomb, the director behind the Justice League: Mortal documentary. The artwork shows an early version of the team in the Fantasticar which Reed Richards had built in his garage. It’s not quite as high-tech as the versions of the vehicle fans have seen in other movies, comics, games and the animated series. The team would’ve apparently flown into the Negative Zone at some point in the film, most likely to fight Toby Kebbell’s version of Doctor Doom. Take a look at the concept art from Josh Trank’s Fantastic Four below.
