Avengers: Endgame is not the only upcoming Marvel Studios flick shrouded in mystery. Captain Marvel has its own share of question marks, including the precise identity of Jude Law’s character. Thankfully, a new featurette for the film seems to have officially cleared that up.
Per Marvel Studios’ own YouTube, Jude Law is playing Yon-Rogg. The character was one of many that the online fan community speculated since the initial announcement that Jude Law had been cast in Captain Marvel. We did know that he was playing a mentor to Brie Larson’s Carol Danvers, which fueled many initial beliefs that Law was playing Mar-Vell.
The new featurette puts all that speculation to rest. Jumping between different actors’ interviews, the short eventually lands on Jude Law. Underneath the actor’s name is the name of who he is playing: Yon-Rogg.
We still do not know, however, how Yon-Rogg features into the grand scheme of things. Many think that he is ultimately going to turn over an evil leaf and that he is merely manipulating Danvers to gain control of her abilities. What we do know is that both Carol and Yon-Rogg are part of an elite team of Kree warriors called Star Force and are fighting in the Kree-Skrull War.
