During an interview with Digital Spy, Captain Marvel directors Anna Boden and Ryan Fleck revealed original plans for a post-credits scene with Jude Law’s Yon-Rogg.
After discovering the true nature of Jude Law’s Yon-Rogg and the Kree, Carol Danvers defeated the would-be invading forces of Ronan the Accuser and sent Yon-Rogg back to Hala with a warning for the Supreme Intelligence. While this was was last audiences saw of Jude Law’s Yon-Rogg, Captain Marvel directors Anna Boden and Ryan Fleck revealed they considered alternate post-credits scenes that would have addressed the character’s fate.
In fact, Anna Boden explained that one of the ideas would have seen Jude Law’s Yon-Rogg end up on Sakaar, the planet on which Thor found himself becoming a prisoner in Taika Waititi’s Thor: Ragnarok:
“We toyed with different ideas of where she might send him off to at the end, and one time we joked that maybe she sent him off and he ended up in Sakaar much like Thor: Ragnarok. We see his ship opening up in that junkyard and we know what’s coming for him.”
Of course, the two post-credit scenes that were ultimately included did not feature Jude Law’s Yon-Rogg, but director Ryan Fleck noted he is pleased with the results, saying. ” […] I think the tags we ended up with are pretty delightful.”
