While not much is currently known about Jurassic World 2, we do know that the sequel to the 2015 smash hit is slated for a 2018 release, so pre-production stages for the film should be about done. Today, the film’s director, J.A. Bayona, teased the beginning of production with a black and white pic of some prop helmets with the Jurassic World park logo on them.

Not much has been said about the story of this Jurassic World sequel, but we do know that it will have a darker tone than previous entries as Bayona stated last December.
‘I think there’s a lot of that in the new ‘Jurassic.’ I think there’s a lot of possessiveness towards our creations. I think it’s very interesting where the new movie is heading. It’s so different from the other films, it talks a lot about the moment we live in right now. It’s darker… but at the same time it’s going to be a lot of fun. It’s a blockbuster, you have Chris Pratt, it’s a great adventure, but it’s very interesting the way the film is darker than the other ones.’
Directed by J.A. Bayona, Jurassic World 2 stars returning cast members Bryce Dallas Howard and Chris Pratt. The cast also includes BD Wong (Jurassic Park, Gotham), Toby Jones (Captain America: The First Avenger), Rafe Spall (Life of Pi, Black Mirror), Justice Smith (The Get Down), and Daniella Pineda (The Detour).
Jurassic World 2 hits theaters June 22, 2018.
