‘Jurassic World 2’ Director Has Fun On Set With Dinosaur Puppets

Jurassic World Universal

Jurassic World 2 director JA Bayona has shared a video of himself playing with dinosaur puppets taken by Jurassic World director Colin Trevorrow on the set of the upcoming sequel.

This wasn’t exactly what fans had in mind when Bayona revealed he would be taking the franchise back to its roots with the use of practical effects.

Plot details on the upcoming sequel are still under wraps but the film will feature both Chris Pratt and Bryce Dallas Howard as they reprise their roles as Owen and Claire along with BD Wong who returns once again as Dr. Henry Wu as the franchise continues the storyline of weaponized dinosaurs introduced in the last film.

The sequel has also added Toby Jones, Justice Smith, Rafe Spall, Ted Levine, Daniella Pineda, Geraldine Chaplin, and James Cromwell into the mix.

While Trevorrow has exited the project as director as he is currently developing Star Wars Episode IX, he and his writing partner Derek Connolly have written the script for Jurassic World 2. Trevorrow is also serving as exec producer.

In addition to practical effects, Bayona will be bringing his horror sensibilities to the project in what will hopefully be a return to form for the dino-rampaging franchise.

Jurassic World 2 is slated to hit theaters on June 22, 2018.
