The runtime for Jurassic World: Dominion has been revealed and it’s set to be the longest Jurassic movie yet.

Jurassic World: Dominion is shaping up to be a truly epic conclusion to the Jurassic World trilogy and possibly the entire Jurassic franchise. As well as seeing the return of stars Chris Pratt and Bryce Dallas Howard from the previous two Jurassic World movies, the film will reunite Jurassic Park stars Sam Neill, Jeff Goldblum and Laura Dern for the first time since the original film. With an ensemble cast this ambitious, incorporating all eras of the franchise, fan expectations are high. Now, the film’s reported runtime seems to confirm its incredible scale.

According to One Take News, Jurassic World: Dominion will be longer than any other Jurassic movie by a long way, with a runtime of 147 minutes, or nearly 2 and a half hours. Previously, the longest films in the franchise had been The Lost World: Jurassic Park and Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom, which both ran for 129 minutes. The longer runtime for Dominion should allow the film the breathing room it needs to incorporate the larger cast. Given the fan following these characters have garnered, it will be important to ensure none of them are left on the sidelines without a satisfying character arc of their own.

If the reports turn out to be accurate, fans are sure to be pleased that the final installment in the Jurassic World franchise is set to be the series’ biggest story yet.

Here is the synopsis for the most recent film in the franchise, Fallen Kingdom:

Three years after the destruction of the Jurassic World theme park, Owen Grady and Claire Dearing return to the island of Isla Nublar to save the remaining dinosaurs from a volcano that’s about to erupt. They soon encounter terrifying new breeds of gigantic dinosaurs, while uncovering a conspiracy that threatens the entire planet.

Fallen Kingdom is available on 4K Ultra HD Blu-ray, DVD, and Digital HD, while Dominion will hit theaters on June 10, 2022. Stay tuned for all the latest news surrounding the franchise’s future, and be sure to subscribe to Heroic Hollywood’s YouTube channel for more original video content.
