Earlier this year, Cartoon Network announced that a brand new animated series centered on the Justice League had been ordered. The new cartoon, titled Justice League Action would feature DC’s iconic superheroes including Batman, Superman and Wonder Woman among others. Judging from the show’s title as well as the promotional material released, this cartoon would have an emphasis on the JLA’s action-packed adventures and perhaps a lighter tone than what the current DC Extended Universe has at the moment.
At San Diego Comic Con, Warner Bros. has unveiled a first glimpse at Justice League Action. Fans finally have footage to take a gander at, and my oh my does it look like fun. Even as someone who digs the darker tone that the DCEU has in its current form, it is nice to see that this cartoon will embrace the joyousness of the most iconic heroes in comic book history.
Justice League Action will feature the voice talents of Kevin Conroy and Mark Hamill both reprising their roles as both Batman and the Joker respectively. Conroy and Hamill can next be heard in the upcoming Batman: The Killing Joke animated movie. Rounding up the voice ensemble will include Rachel Kimsey as Wonder Woman, Jason J. Lewis as Superman, Diedrich Bader as Booster Gold, and James Woods as Lex Luthor. The show is set to premiere sometime this Fall on Cartoon Network. You can check out the highlight reel down below.
