Yesterday, fans were treated to a brand new image from Justice League, featuring Batman, Wonder Woman with newcomers Cyborg and The Flash. Released through Empire Magazine, the photo captured a moment featured in the films San Diego Comic Con teaser. The same issue of Empire features an interview with director Zack Snyder, who briefly discussed the inclusion of Aquaman, Cyborg and Flash in the superhero team-up film.
Snyder expressed his excitement over introducing the three new heroes to the DC Extended Universe (cameos aside).
“These guys – Aquaman, Cyborg, Flash – really are just fun to explore. They’re just so fresh. They’re on the edge of their powers at different times in this story and that’s really fun.”
Snyder is the just the latest creative mind behind the DCEU to emphasize the fun of future projects. Aquaman writer Will Beall recently promised more “fun” DC Comics based films and Ben Affleck has previously discussed the tonal shift for Justice League.
Snyder also teased a large role for Superman in the film, despite the characters death in Batman v. Superman: Dawn of Justice.
Fueled by his restored faith in humanity and inspired by Superman’s selfless act, Bruce Wayne enlists the help of his newfound ally, Diana Prince, to face an even greater enemy. Together, Batman and Wonder Woman work quickly to find and recruit a team of metahumans to stand against this newly awakened threat. But despite the formation of this unprecedented league of heroes—Batman, Wonder Woman, Aquaman, Cyborg and The Flash—it may already be too late to save the planet from an assault of catastrophic proportions.
Directed by Zack Snyder, Justice League stars Ben Affleck, Henry Cavill, Gal Gadot, Ezra Miller, Jason Momoa, Ray Fisher, Amy Adams, Jesse Eisenberg, Amber Heard, Jeremy Irons, J.K. Simmons, Willem Dafoe, Connie Nielsen, Julian Lewis Jones and Ciarán Hinds.
Justice League will be released in theaters on November 17, 2017.
