Aquaman star Jason Momoa got candid about the about the rumors of Zack Snyder’s Justice League cut while promoting his latest superhero film.
Momoa is set to reprise his role for the third time as the King of Atlantis in his own standalone Aquaman movie this month. The character was previously introduced in Zack Snyder’s Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice and returned for another outing in DC’s team-up flick Justice League.
Speaking with MTV News, the actor couldn’t help but share his love for Snyder his excitement for the possibility of one day seeing Snyder’s cut of Justice League. For the uninitiated, Zack Snyder exited the Justice League project at Warner Bros. due to a family tragedy. Marvel’s Avengers director Joss Whedon took the reigns to rewrite some of the scripts and oversee the film’s additional photography, as well as the, remained of the post-production process.
The outcome from the behind-the-scenes changes resulted in what some inside Warner Bros. described as a Frankenstein between the two directors. A clear difference between the film that was marketed and the theatrical release was also apparent. Momoa was asked about the extreme reaction from fans who went as far to protest outside of the studio, demanding for the film’s release. He revealed he’s just as obsessed with the Snyder cut and how much he wants to see it:
“I’m obsessed with it too. That’s one thing that sucks with our business where you just can’t speak your mind but yeah, f— yeah I want to see it!”
