‘Justice League’: Jason Momoa Is Obsessed With The Snyder Cut: ‘F— Yeah I Want To See It’

Aquaman star Jason Momoa got candid about the about the rumors of Zack Snyder’s Justice League cut while promoting his latest superhero film.

Momoa is set to reprise his role for the third time as the King of Atlantis in his own standalone Aquaman movie this month. The character was previously introduced in Zack Snyder’s Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice and returned for another outing in DC’s team-up flick Justice League.

Speaking with MTV News, the actor couldn’t help but share his love for Snyder his excitement for the possibility of one day seeing Snyder’s cut of Justice League. For the uninitiated, Zack Snyder exited the Justice League project at Warner Bros. due to a family tragedy. Marvel’s Avengers director Joss Whedon took the reigns to rewrite some of the scripts and oversee the film’s additional photography, as well as the, remained of the post-production process.

The outcome from the behind-the-scenes changes resulted in what some inside Warner Bros. described as a Frankenstein between the two directors. A clear difference between the film that was marketed and the theatrical release was also apparent. Momoa was asked about the extreme reaction from fans who went as far to protest outside of the studio, demanding for the film’s release. He revealed he’s just as obsessed with the Snyder cut and how much he wants to see it:

“I’m obsessed with it too. That’s one thing that sucks with our business where you just can’t speak your mind but yeah, f— yeah I want to see it!”

Based on characters created by Paul Norris and Mort Weisinger, the script has been written by David Leslie Johnson-McGoldrick and Will Beall based on a story by Geoff Johns, Wan and Beall. Peter Safran and Rob Cowan have produced the film with Deborah Snyder, Zack Snyder, Jon Berg, Johns, and Walter Hamada serving as executive producers.

Directed by James Wan, Aquaman stars Jason Momoa as Arthur Curry, Amber Heard as Mera, Willem Dafoe as Vulko, Patrick Wilson as Orm / Ocean Master, Dolph Lundgren as Nereus, Yahya Abdul-Mateen II as Black Manta, Nicole Kidman as Atlanna, Ludi Lin as Captain Murk, and Temuera Morrison as Tom Curry.

From Warner Bros. Pictures and director James Wan comes an acition-packed adventure that spans the vast, visually breathtaking underwater world of the seven seas, “Aquaman,” starring Jason Momoa in the title role. The film reveals the origin story of half-human, half-Atlantean Arthur Curry and takes him on the journey of his lifetime—one that will not only force him to face who he really is, but to discover if he is worthy of who he was born to be… a king.

Aquaman will be released in theaters on December 21, 2018.
