Ciaran Hinds To Play Steppenwolf In ‘Justice League’

Justice League Ciaran Hinds Steppenwolf

The Justice League has their villain! After it was revealed that Steppenwolf was indeed the villain of 2017’s Justice League, many wondered who would play the New God of Apokolips and now we finally have the answer. The Wrap reports that Steppenwolf is none other than Game of Thrones star Ciaran Hinds.

Hinds is known for his very unlikeable Game of Thrones character, Mance Rayder a.k.a. the King-Beyond-the-Wall, but Steppenwolf will mark a new level of unlikability. The actor recently wrapped his villainous motion capture role for Justice League and the part will be very much like Thanos, a CGI alien behemoth. What do you guys think of the casting? Does it boost your excitement for Justice League?

Fueled by his restored faith in humanity and inspired by Superman’s selfless act, Bruce Wayne enlists the help of his newfound ally, Diana Prince, to face an even greater enemy. Together, Batman and Wonder Woman work quickly to find and recruit a team of metahumans to stand against this newly awakened threat. But despite the formation of this unprecedented league of heroes—Batman, Wonder Woman, Aquaman, Cyborg and The Flash—it may already be too late to save the planet from an assault of catastrophic proportions.

Justice League is directed by Zack Snyder and will star Ben Affleck as Batman, Henry Cavill as Superman, Gal Gadot as Wonder Woman, Jason Momoa as Aquaman, Ezra Miller as The Flash, Ray Fisher as Cyborg, Willem Dafoe as Vulko and J.K. Simmons as Commissioner Gordon. Justice League hit theaters November 17th 2017!

    Oooooh, GRAVITAS!

I still think Steppenwolf is a red herring and most likely just a supporting role, and that the big bad of the film (likely revealed halfway through) will be Darkseid.

    • Darthmanwe

DC blowing their Darkseid load this early on?… Hmm…. Seems unlikely.

Then again, they did kill superman and show doomsday in second movie.

So what? Superman dying has never been a concluding point of his character arc, it’s always been more about what he was reborn as.
Being that u weren’t in the room with Johns and Snyder and Terrio, it’s kind of ignorant to armchair quarterback don’t u think?
None of us know what the long form story arch of the character is.
Maybe we can just get back to enjoying stories as they r told to us by the storytellers instead of being cynical and hypercritical

And your so easy of a trigger just caused you to blast someone who enjoyed theatrical BvS to a degree, and liked ult. edition a lot.

I was making an observation, that they might not want to do Darkseid this early on, but as a counter argument, they did do a very prominent mid-late stage Superman story at almost the start of his story.

And yet. You just went off. You bombed all over your post, and you went full on scorched earth on any sort of opinion.

Tell me, how does it feel on that high horse?

Is it cold? Is it lonely?

      That’s not happening, dude.

  • Nick Farina

LOVED him on both Rome and Game of Thrones. Great actor!!

I liked Mance Rayder quite a lot… What’s your problem Nathaniel? lol

  • LupeX

It sounds like a good casting call. Snyder has a flawless record when it comes to casting decisions so that’s to be expected.

I’m more curious about what Steppenwolf looks like and how he speaks/moves/interacts with the World around him.

      For all except Lex

      • LupeX

Lex was perfect for the Lex he was playing.
