Justice League was the culmination of DC Extended universe, a journey that began with 2013’s Man Of Steel. While the reviews were underwhelming and the box office wasn’t as hard-hitting as it could have been, the film has been praised for its lighter, more optimistic tone and the possibilities it sets up for the DC Extended Universe going forward. One of the bigger plot elements of the film is the fact that Batman, Cyborg, Wonder Woman, Aquaman and The Flash live in a world without Superman. Given Superman’s resurrection and eventual re-insertion into the narrative, he was conspicously absent from a lot of the marketing material, causing many to ponder if he was even in the film given his death in Batman v Superman: Dawn Of Justice. After the release however, the marketing gears changed. Superman began appearing in more of the promotional material and as Warner Bros. prepares to release the film on Blu-Ray and DVD, Henry Cavill is more prominent in the marketing.
We have a new look at promotional material leading up to the home video release that has all six members of the team united. Henry Cavill’s Superman, Ben Affleck’s Batman, Gal Gadot’s Wonder Woman, Ray Fisher’s Cyborg, Ezra Miller’s Flash and Jason Momoa as Aquaman are clad in their signature costumes and posing heroically next to the Justice League logo. You can check out the image below.
The image is refreshing in it’s heroism and reminds us that there is a lot more for the DCEU left in store to explore, especially with the new tone and direction.
What do you make of this image? Do you think not including Superman in the marketing and promotion hurt the movie’s chances? Let us know below!
