Justice League was the culmination of DC Extended universe, a journey that began with 2013’s Man Of Steel. While the reviews were underwhelming and the box office wasn’t as hard-hitting as it could have been, the film has been praised for its lighter, more optimistic tone and the possibilities it sets up for the DC Extended Universe going forward. One of the bigger plot elements of the film is the fact that Batman, Cyborg, Wonder Woman, Aquaman and The Flash live in a world without Superman. Given Superman’s resurrection and eventual re-insertion into the narrative, he was conspicously absent from a lot of the marketing material, causing many to ponder if he was even in the film given his death in Batman v Superman: Dawn Of Justice. After the release however, the marketing gears changed. Superman began appearing in more of the promotional material and as Warner Bros. prepares to release the film on Blu-Ray and DVD, Henry Cavill is more prominent in the marketing.
We have a new look at promotional material leading up to the home video release that has all six members of the team united. Henry Cavill’s Superman, Ben Affleck’s Batman, Gal Gadot’s Wonder Woman, Ray Fisher’s Cyborg, Ezra Miller’s Flash and Jason Momoa as Aquaman are clad in their signature costumes and posing heroically next to the Justice League logo.

The image is refreshing in it’s heroism and reminds us that there is a lot more for the DCEU left in store to explore, especially with the new tone and direction.
What do you make of this image? Do you think not including Superman in the marketing and promotion hurt the movie’s chances? Let us know below!

5 Reasons Michael Bay Is The Perfect Director For DC’s ‘Lobo’
One of the most “in development hell” movies from DC has been Lobo. In fall of 2009, Guy Ritchie was attached to the project, but he left in early 2010 to work on other films. Two years later, Brad Peyton was reportedly going to write and direct the film with Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson starring as the titular character. However, Johnson was soon after announced as Black Adam. Jason Fuchs had been named the screenwriter in spring of 2016 but there still wasn’t a solid director rumored or announced until a few weeks ago when Michael Bay was revealed to be in talks for the project.
Bay has to be one of the most polarizing directors in the last 25 years and I think the criticisms are valid. You’ve got films like The Rock, Armageddon, Bad Boys and Transformers on one side but then you’ve got some questionable choices in those same franchises as well. But Lobo is something that might be a little different and not the typical Michael Bay experience so there are reasons why this movie might actually work with him at the helm.
