‘Justice League’ Synopsis By Mattel Centers On ‘Wonder Woman’

Wonder Woman Gal Gadot Justice League
Yesterday, fans were treated to the new box art for the Justice League Barbie Signature Mera doll. The packaging for the doll also featured a brand new synopsis for Justice League, which centered on Wonder Woman instead of Batman.

The new synopsis reads as follows:

Once again, Wonder Woman must demonstrate her ability as a fierce warrior. Facing a great enemy, she and Batman join forces to recruit a group of metahumans to stand against this newly awakened threat. Having formed an unprecedented League of heroes, they set out to save the planet from an assault of catastrophic proportions.

With Wonder Woman performing exceptionally well at the box office and becoming the most well-received entry in the DC Extended Universe, it is not too surprising to see the film being marketed with a focus on the classic DC Comics heroine. What do you think of the new synopsis? Share your thoughts below!

The original synopsis reads as follows:

Fueled by his restored faith in humanity and inspired by Superman’s selfless act, Bruce Wayne enlists the help of his newfound ally, Diana Prince, to face an even greater enemy. Together, Batman and Wonder Woman work quickly to find and recruit a team of metahumans to stand against this newly awakened threat. But despite the formation of this unprecedented league of heroes—Batman, Wonder Woman, Aquaman, Cyborg and The Flash—it may already be too late to save the planet from an assault of catastrophic proportions.

Directed by Zack Snyder, Justice League stars Ben Affleck, Henry Cavill, Gal Gadot, Ezra Miller, Jason Momoa, Ray Fisher, Amy Adams, Jesse Eisenberg, Amber Heard, Jeremy Irons, J.K. Simmons, Willem Dafoe, Connie Nielsen, Julian Lewis Jones and Ciarán Hinds.

Justice League will be released in theaters on November 17, 2017.

7 Wonder Woman Villains Perfect For Future Sequels

Previous1 of 8

Wonder WomanNow that Wonder Woman is officialy getting a sequel, it’s time to start fantasizing about what we’ll see in the character’s next cinematic solo outing and beyond. Wonder Woman has a rich rogues gallery that has transformed and grown alongside her as she’s become one of the world’s most iconic heroes.

Ares, the Greek god of war, was the main villain for Wonder Woman’s first outing, but DC is gonna need to shake things up for future projects. Diana Prince has already proved herself a terrific warrior in Batman v Superman when she took on Doomsday, so I’m excited to see who the creators want to throw at her next. She doesn’t need a full team beside her — Wonder Woman is warrior enough to defend the innocent from all types of threats.

Hit Next to find out more about 7 villains perfect for future Wonder Woman movies.

It’s safe to say now that Wonder Woman is officially the face of the DCEU.

Especially if her movie keeps minting WB mucho dineros at the box office (it still hasn’t opened in Japan yet, and there’s an outside chance it surpasses Batman v Superman’s box office take).

Which is crazy when you consider the fact that she’s supplanted the erstwhile biggest names not just in DCEU in Superman and Batman, but in all of Comicdom bar Spider-Man.

Not that I’m saying Wonder Woman shouldn’t get more spotlight. I mean it is always refered to as the Trinity, yet last 20 years it seems like its Batman plus friends. But you should take the product into consideration. Per the article Justice League Barbie Signature Mera doll. This is a BARBIE doll product. Would make sense to highlight Wonder Woman in the synopsis. Not like it would take millions of dollars to rewrite a synopsis to highlight Wonder Woman over Batman.

It’s on a Mattel Barbie Doll for girls and emphasis the women in the movie. Don’t get it twisted as the new official synopsis from WB.
