‘Justice League’ Synopsis By Mattel Centers On ‘Wonder Woman’

A new 'Justice League' synopsis featured on Mattel's line of Mera Barbie dolls centers on Wonder Woman rather than Batman.

Yesterday, fans were treated to the new box art for the Justice League Barbie Signature Mera doll. The packaging for the doll also featured a brand new synopsis for Justice League, which centered on Wonder Woman instead of Batman.

The new synopsis reads as follows:

“Once again, Wonder Woman must demonstrate her ability as a fierce warrior. Facing a great enemy, she and Batman join forces to recruit a group of metahumans to stand against this newly awakened threat. Having formed an unprecedented League of heroes, they set out to save the planet from an assault of catastrophic proportions.”

With Wonder Woman performing exceptionally well at the box office and becoming the most well-received entry in the DC Extended Universe, it is not too surprising to see the film being marketed with a focus on the classic DC Comics heroine. The original synopsis for Justice League reads as follows:

Fueled by his restored faith in humanity and inspired by Superman’s selfless act, Bruce Wayne enlists the help of his newfound ally, Diana Prince, to face an even greater enemy. Together, Batman and Wonder Woman work quickly to find and recruit a team of metahumans to stand against this newly awakened threat. But despite the formation of this unprecedented league of heroes—Batman, Wonder Woman, Aquaman, Cyborg and The Flash—it may already be too late to save the planet from an assault of catastrophic proportions.

Directed by Zack Snyder, Justice League stars Ben Affleck, Henry Cavill, Gal Gadot, Ezra Miller, Jason Momoa, Ray Fisher, Amy Adams, Jesse Eisenberg, Amber Heard, Jeremy Irons, J.K. Simmons, Willem Dafoe, Connie Nielsen, Julian Lewis Jones and Ciarán Hinds.

Justice League will be released in theaters on November 17, 2017.
