Justice League premiered in November to lukewarm reception and a modest box office take. The film was the culmination of the DC Extended Universe, which began with 2013’s Man Of Steel and was developed further with 2016’s Batman v Superman: Dawn Of Justice, Suicide Squad and Wonder Woman. The divided reaction to Dawn Of Justice caused a lot of things to be changed for Justice League, but that wasn’t the end of the drama. A series of reshoots and a director change resulted in a movie that was vastly different from the one concieved. The end result was a movie that told the core story but abandoned a lot of elements that were shown in marketing and promotional material.
One of the highlights of the DCEU is Gal Gadot’s Wonder Woman. Since her debut in BVS, she has been a fan favorite and her scenes are almost always the highlight. One of her key scenes in Justice League was when she rescues hostages from terrorists early on in the film. While the film presented the scene in almost it’s entirety, some pieces were mising that were shown in trailers and clips. Now, with the Blu-Ray and DVD release of Justice League around the corner, we have alook at an extended version of the scene, in it’s raw stunt rehearsal form. Check out the clip below:
The clip shows that there was perhaps a bit more to the Wonder Woman rescue scene than we saw on the big screen. With all the scenes that were deleted, it doesn’t seem surprising if there is a larger wealth of footage for Justice League that no one has seen. Here’s hoping someday fans will be able to see a film closer to the version that was first conceived.
