Justice League director Zack Snyder has revealed new images of Henry Cavill’s Superman from that movie and Man of Steel.
As the second anniversary of the theatrical release of Justice League approaches, Zack Snyder is sharing new photos from his time with working on the DC Universe, which of course started with rebooting Superman back in 2013. Zack Snyder’s last work with Henry Cavill took place in 2017, when he left post-production on Justice League following a family tragedy, handing over the reins to Joss Whedon (who he, Warner Bros., and DC Films had hired to help with reshoots, as he was expected to work on Batgirl at the time).
The first behind-the-scenes image of Henry Cavill’s Superman, from Man of Steel, appears to be from the oil rig sequence at the very beginning of the movie. Meanwhile, the second image appears to be a promotional shot for Justice League. Check them out below:

While Henry Cavill’s time as Superman appears to be over now that he’s playing the lead of The Witcher for Netflix, it’s safe to say that he left a mark as Superman in Zack Snyder’s films. Superman remains an iconic cinematic character in spite of not having an immediate future in the movies of DC Films, and one can only hope that it won’t be long before we see the character on the big screen again.
Here’s the official synopsis for Justice League:
Fueled by his restored faith in humanity and inspired by Superman’s selfless act, Bruce Wayne enlists the help of his newfound ally, Diana Prince, to face an even greater enemy. Together, Batman and Wonder Woman work quickly to find and recruit a team of metahumans to stand against this newly awakened threat. But despite the formation of this unprecedented league of heroes—Batman, Wonder Woman, Aquaman, Cyborg and The Flash—it may already be too late to save the planet from an assault of catastrophic proportions.
Directed by Zack Snyder, Justice League stars Ben Affleck, Henry Cavill, Amy Adams, Gal Gadot, Ezra Miller, Jason Momoa, Ray Fisher, Jeremy Irons, Diane Lane, Connie Nielsen, J. K. Simmons, and Ciarán Hinds.
Justice League is now available on Blu-Ray, DVD and Digital HD.
