Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania actor Jonathan Majors claims he is not responsible for the domestic dispute that led to his arrest last Saturday. On Thursday, Majors released three text messages allegedly sent by the woman involved in the incident, hours after Majors’ arrest, stating that “this was not an attack, and they do not have my blessing on any charges being placed.” The second text simply read: “I love you.”
The texts, sent from the offices of Jonathan Majors’ attorney Priya Chaudhry, aimed to reaffirm the stance that the unnamed woman “was the one who used physical force against” Majors, and that she “also disavowed any allegations that he had done anything to her and confirmed that Mr. Majors called 911 because of her mental condition,” according to a statement from Chaudhry. However, TheWrap was unable to independently verify the origin of the texts.
This past weekend, Jonathan Majors was arrested for strangulation, assault and harassment. “He has done nothing wrong,” a representative for Majors told TheWrap at the time. “We look forward to clearing his name and clearing this up.”
The unidentified 30-year old victim “sustained minor injuries to her head and neck and was removed to an area hospital in stable condition,” the NYPD reported over the weekend.
Majors, who plays the comic book villain Kang The Conqueror in Quantumania, is supposed to be the Marvel Cinematic Universe’s next big bad.
A variant of He Who Remains from the Disney Plus series Loki, Kang serves as the main villain of Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania before taking on an even larger role in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Marvel has already confirmed that Majors is set to return as the villainous character for Avengers: The Kang Dynasty.
