Guardians of the Galaxy and Avengers: Infinity War star Karen Gillan, who plays Nebula in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, recently teased the beginning of reshoots for Avengers 4.
The finale of Infinity War left the original Avengers line-up intact, killing off almost every other hero in the MCU except for a few others, including Nebula and Rocket (Bradley Cooper). Whether you know Nebula from the comics or the movies, it’s pretty heavily apparent that she has issues with her father, Thanos (Josh Brolin).
So, it makes sense that the upcoming fourth Avengers film will include Nebula clashing with Thanos once more. Mark Ruffalo recently revealed that the Avengers 4 reshoots taking place this month are to finish the film and a number of returning stars have announced their return to set on social media.
What’s interesting is that the social media post has since been removed from Instagram. The post featured Gillan’s alarm on her phone, set to go off at 4:30 am, labeled “Reshoots!”. The image also featured this message from Gillan.
“You know what this means….Nebula has some unfinished business with Daddio.”
In the original Infinity Gauntlet story, Nebula eventually obtained the Infinity Gauntlet herself, so it’s possible fans will finally see this iconic image up on the big screen. That being said, this clash could happen in a number of awesome ways and the MCU has certainly done a great job so far of creating its own iconic imagery and continuity.
The endings of both Infinity War and Ant-Man and the Wasp left many questions to be answered by Avengers 4, which is set to hit theaters in May 2019. Between now and then, the MCU will receive a new origin film in the form of Captain Marvel, which will star Brie Larson in the titular role and will hit theaters in March 2019. We’ll be sure to keep you updated on all news regarding Avengers 4 as more information becomes available.
