Karen Gillan Says She’s Seen A ‘Guardians Of The Galaxy Vol. 3’ Script

Avengers 4 Karen Gillan Nebula Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3

Marvel Studios was originally planning on beginning production on Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 sometime in 2019 for a 2020 release. Unfortunately, Disney severed ties with original writer/director James Gunn over a series of tweets of off-color jokes from several years ago and now the film has been delayed until a new director steps in to take over. With the development of the upcoming sequel continuing to be a mystery, we now know that at least one of the Guardians in Nebula actress Karen Gillan may have had a peek at a script for the third entry.

Gillan was promoting her directorial debut, The Party’s Just Beginning where she briefly discussed Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 and confirmed that she has had a peek at a script despite all of the pre-production issues with Gunn now out of the picture:

“That’s the most important thing. I don’t have any details as to when [the next Guardians film will come out] but there’s a script in existence. I may have had a little teeny peek, but I can’t say anything.”

Gunn had a draft for Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 prepared and even shared the cover page for the script to the public, expressing that he poured his whole heart into this third film. Following his firing, Gillan and the rest of the core cast of the films signed a letter in solidarity with Gunn despite his firing.

Sadly, both Disney and Gunn have moved on and Gillan will be working with a brand new director at the helm of the film. It is unknown if the script she had a peek at was Gunn’s draft or a rewrite.

What do you make of Gillan’s comments about the script for Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3? Sound off in the comments below, and be sure to continue following Heroic Hollywood for all the latest news in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

Gillan will next be seen as Nebula in Marvel’s Avengers: Endgame. Here is a tentative synopsis:
