Karl Urban has confirmed that the second season of The Boys will contain an appearance by one major character from the comics who was noticeably absent from the first season.

Last year, The Boys premiered on Amazon Prime Video and shocked audiences and critics with just how good it was. The series itself is based on a Garth Ennis comic of the same name that, like many of other of Garth Ennis’ works, has something of a mixed reputation among fans and critics. Like AMC’s Preacher, however, The Boys Amazon Prime series found a way to sand away some of the more gratuitous elements that arguably made the books unpleasant but kept the more novel elements that made them so appealing in the first place. The first season of The Boys, however, did have one element that fans probably wanted to stay in the show.

In the comics, Karl Urban’s character, Billy Butcher, has a sidekick dog who stays with him throughout the comics named Terror. In the first season of The Boys, Terror is noticeably missing throughout the series but will make an appearance in the second season. When asked by a fan, Karl Urban confirmed that the dog would be in the show but did not say how big of a role the dog would have:

“You’re gonna love season two. If you love Terror, you’ll love season two. Terror definitely makes an appearance.”

What do you all make of Karl Urban’s comment? Would you like to see Billy Butcher’s dog in the second season of The Boys? Let us know what you think in the comments below!

Here is the official synopsis for The Boys season one:

THE BOYS is an irreverent take on what happens when superheroes, who are as popular as celebrities, as influential as politicians and as revered as Gods, abuse their superpowers rather than use them for good. It’s the powerless against the super powerful as The Boys embark on a heroic quest to expose the truth about “The Seven,” and their formidable Vought backing.

The Boys stars Karl Urban Jack Quaid, Antony Starr, Erin Moriarty, Dominique McElligott, Jessie T. Usher, Laz Alonso, Chace Crawford, Tomer Kapon, Karen Fukuhara, and Nathan Mitchell. So far, the series has added Goran Visnjic and Claudia Doumit for season two.

The Boys season one is now available on Amazon Prime Video.
