Bo-Katan actress Katee Sackhoff teases a showdown with Din Djarin in the third season of The Mandalorian.
First appearing in The Clone Wars, Bo-Katon was a character who went from an antagonist to a hero in the series. Originally aligned herself with the radical Mandalorian group Death Watch, but eventually turned against them when they allied themselves with Darth Maul. During the events of Star Wars: Rebels, she lead the resistance against the Empire on Mandalore which apparently went poorly after the events of the show.
In The Mandalorian, we got our first-ever live-action version of Bo-Katon played by Katee Sackhoff who eventually allies with Din Djarin to rescue Grogu from Imperial forces. Unfortunately, during the events of that season, Din obtains the Dark Saber which legend says gives one the right to rule the Mandalorians. In the show, he had promised to leave whoever wielded the Dark Saber for Bo-Katon to fight so she could take the weapon with honor from who had it. The various shots of the character in the final scene seemed to indicate that she was not happy with how things transpired.
“It sure seems that way, doesn’t it? I think one of the coolest things about our show is how we openly accept how it takes a team to create these characters. Working with Pedro and Brendan [Wayne] and Lateef [Crowder] is, each one of the brings a different expertise to that suit as myself with all of my stunt doubles. There were no less than five women in my suit this season because everyone has a different level of expertise and it’s really important to the fans to make sure that these characters come across capable and that they come across with the right experience and it takes multiple different people to do that. Most of my days are filled with Brendan Wayne and he and I have a lot of fun together.”
