‘Arrow’ Concept Art Reveals Comic Book-Inspired Black Canary Suit For Katie Cassidy

New concept art from Arrow reveals a comic book-inspired suit for Katie Cassidy’s Black Canary.

While Black Canary actress Katie Cassidy will be appearing alongside Juliana Harkavy and Katherine McNamera in Green Arrow and the Black Canaries, she very nearly wore a comic book-inspired costume taken straight from the New 52 era. Katie Cassidy has worn several versions of the Black Canary costume during her time on Arrow, but this new design was intended to be the final version of her suit. The artist who created it explained that it was designed when they thought Arrow‘s seventh season was going to be its last.

Concept artist Andy Poon revealed the Arrow artwork on Instagram, showing off Black Canary actress Katie Cassidy with the New 52-inspired look. The artist noted that he used blue and gold as well as a mesh design in the Black Canary suit as a callback to the New 52 comics. The second version of Katie Cassidy’s Black Canary suit leaves off the armoured shoulders and braces. Take a look at the Arrow concept art of Katie Cassidy’s Black Canary suit below.
