A brand new poster for The Matrix Resurrections shows Keanu Reeves and Carrie-Anne Moss standing amongst the franchise’s newcomers.
After being AWOL for nearly two decades, The Matrix is returning this Christmas. After a stellar first trailer that diminished any doubts about the sequel, fans have been patiently waiting for more footage and info. With the film’s Christmas release rapidly approaching, a second trailer is likely on the way. To get fans hyped up, HBO Max has released a brand new, character-heavy poster for the upcoming sequel that puts the spotlight on fan-favorite heroes Neo and Trinity.
The Matrix Resurrections poster puts the focus on our merry band of characters, including Keanu Reeves’ Neo and Carrie-Anne Moss’ Trinity. Newcomers Yahya Abdul-Mateen II, who appears as a new Morpheus, and Jessica Henwick’s Bugs also appear on the poster. An unknown fifth individual hangs in the back as the rest of the crew do hero poses.
Details on the upcoming Matrix sequel are slim, and it doesn’t help that the last trailer left us with more questions than answers. Like, how exactly are Neo and Trinity are back? Or how exactly does a new Morpheus fits into the sequel? Regardless, we’re on board for whatever director Lana Wachowski has in store for us.
Directed by Lana Wachowski from a script she co-wrote with Aleksandar Hemon and David Mitchel, The Matrix Resurrections stars Keanu Reeves, Carrie-Anne Moss, Yahya Abdul-Mateen II, Jonathan Groff, Toby Onwumere, Eréndira Ibarra, Neil Patrick Harris, Jessica Henwick, Priyanka Chopra, Andrew Caldwell, and Brian J. Smith.
The Matrix Resurrections is currently set to hit theaters and HBO Max on December 22, 2021. Stay tuned for all the latest news on the upcoming film and be sure to subscribe to Heroic Hollywood’s YouTube channel for more original video content.
