Keanu Reeves’ John Wick: Chapter 3 – Parabellum sells three million units and breaks the Lionsgate Home Entertainment dry spell.

After the box office success of John Wick: Chapter 3 – Parabellum, the franchise led by Keanu Reeves is only proving more popular as the film sells upwards of three million units on home entertainment. According to Deadline, the film is the most profitable home entertainment release that Lionsgate has seen since 2014 with The Hunger Games: Mockingjay – Part 1. And given that John Wick: Chapter 3 – Parabellum made $321 million worldwide, it isn’t surprising that the home release is just as popular.

With this much success for the John Wick franchise, it’s equally not surprising that it’ll continue on with a fourth film that has a release date of May 21, 2021. Whether it’ll continue on past a fourth film remains to be seen, but if the next John Wick adventure is as popular as John Wick: Chapter 3 – Parabellum, fans will be left wanting even more. The Lionsgate President of Home Entertainment Ron Schwartz is clearly happy with the franchise’s success. Read his comments from Deadline below.

“The success of John Wick: Chapter 3 is a testament to the film’s incredible cast, led by Keanu Reeves, and amazing creative team, the efforts of our sales and marketing executives, and the vibrancy of the home entertainment business across all of its platforms.”

Directed by Chad Stahelski, John Wick: Chapter 3 stars Keanu Reeves, Halle Berry, Ian McShane, Ruby Rose, Common, Lance Reddick, Laurence Fishburne, Hiroyuki Sanada, Jason Mantzoukas, Anjelica Huston, and Boban Marjanovic. Here’s the official synopsis:

John Wick (Keanu Reeves) is on the run for two reasons… he’s being hunted for a global $14 million dollar open contract on his life, and for breaking a central rule: taking a life on Continental Hotel grounds. The victim was a member of the High Table who ordered the open contract. John should have already been executed, except the Continental’s manager, Winston, has given him a one-hour grace period before he’s “Excommunicado” – membership revoked, banned from all services and cut off from other members. John uses the service industry to stay alive as he fights and kills his way out of New York City.

John Wick: Chapter 3 is out now on Digital HD, Blu-Ray, 4K and DVD. Stay tuned to Heroic Hollywood for the latest news on the future of the John Wick franchise as we learn it.
