Kevin Feige Settles Major ‘Avengers: Endgame’ Captain America Debate

Marvel Studios President Kevin Feige has finally settled a debate involving Captain America in Avengers: Endgame and when was he worthy of picking up Thor’s hammer Mjolnir.

By now you must know that Avengers: Endgame is one of the most spectacular and eye-popping superhero films ever made. The movie blends action and emotion in a way that only the conclusion of more than 10 years worth of filmmaking can deliver. One of the film’s biggest moments involved the fight between Thanos and Marvel’s big three: Iron Man, Captain America, and Thor. At a point during the fight, Iron Man and Captain America seem to be out of action as Thor is struggling to fend off Thanos. In an exciting and awe-worthy cinematic moment, Captain America lifts up Mjolnir and send its hurdling right at the Mad Titan.

The Asgardian lore tells us that Odin placed a spell on Mjolnir so only the worthy would be able to pick up the legendary hammer. Nevertheless, only Thor managed to pick up the hammer up until that moment in time but during Avengers: Age of Ultron several Avengers tried to pick it up, Steve Rogers included, failing each time. So how come Captain America could pick up Mjolnir in Avengers: Endgame? Many theorized that Cap wasn’t worthy during Age of Ultron and was made worthy after settling his feud with Tony Stark.

Well, Marvel Studios President Kevin Feige settled this debate during his Reddit AMA this week. The mastermind behind the MCU clarified that Steve Rogers was always worthy, but he didn’t pick up Mjolnir during Age of Ultron so Thor’s feelings wouldn’t be hurt:

“We think he was always worthy and was being polite in Age of Ultron.”

How different would the MCU be if Steve Rogers had picked up Mjolnir during Avengers: Age of Ultron? Let us know what you think in the comment section down below!

Avengers: Endgame concludes what Marvel Studios president Kevin Feige dubbed as ‘The Infinity Saga’ or what we’ve seen as Thanos’ secret quest for the powerful Infinity Stones. This Saga heavily featured characters like Robert Downey Jr.’s Iron Man and Chris Evans’ Captain America and Avengers: Endgame wraps up the stories which started with Iron Man way back in 2008.

Here is the official synopsis for Avengers: Endgame:

The grave course of events set in motion by Thanos that wiped out half the universe and fractured the Avengers ranks compels the remaining Avengers to take one final stand in Marvel Studios’ grand conclusion to twenty-two films, “Avengers: Endgame.”

Directed by Anthony and Joe Russo, Avengers: Endgame stars Robert Downey Jr., Chris Evans, Mark Ruffalo, Chris Hemsworth, Scarlett Johansson, Jeremy Renner, Don Cheadle, Paul Rudd, Brie Larson, Karen Gillan, Danai Gurira, Benedict Wong, Jon Favreau, Bradley Cooper, Gwyneth Paltrow, and Josh Brolin.

Avengers: Endgame is now playing everywhere.
