Marvel Studios President Kevin Feige has confirmed that Charlie Cox will stay on as Daredevil for the MCU.

Fans were disappointed when Disney gutted the various Marvel shows in production at Netflix. Daredevil, Jessica Jones, and Luke Cage were amongst the casualties. Now, it looks like Charlie Cox’s Matt Murdock will officially live to see another day. Rumors have suggested for almost a year that Cox will be returning as Daredevil for Spider-Man: No Way Home. The Daredevil star and various cast members from the Spidey threequel have denied the casting but industry speculation remained at an all-time high. Now, Marvel Studios President Kevin Feige has confirmed that should Daredevil return in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, he’d be played by none other than Charlie Cox.

In a chat with CinemaBlend, Marvel’s Kevin Feige teased Daredevil’s return to the franchise, revealing that The Man With No Fear wouldn’t be replaced by another character.

“If you were to see Daredevil in upcoming things, Charlie Cox, yes, would be the actor playing Daredevil. Where we see that, how we see that, when we see that, remains to be seen.”

Beyond his rumored appearance in Marvel’s Spider-Man: No Way Home, Charlie Cox’s Daredevil has been teased in the Hawkeye series. The show has heavily indicated that Maya Lopez’s Echo is directly tied to Vincent D’Onofrio’s Kingpin, who in turn is associated with Cox’s Daredevil. Revealing Kingpin in either this or next’s week’s episode would perfectly tie the MCU return with Cox’s cinematic debut as Daredevil in No Way Home.

Here is the synopsis for Marvel Studios’ Spider-Man: No Way Home:

“For the first time in the cinematic history of Spider-Man, our friendly neighborhood hero’s identity is revealed, bringing his Super Hero responsibilities into conflict with his normal life and putting those he cares about most at risk. When he enlists Doctor Strange’s help to restore his secret, the spell tears a hole in their world, releasing the most powerful villains who’ve ever fought a Spider-Man in any universe. Now, Peter will have to overcome his greatest challenge yet, which will not only forever alter his own future but the future of the Multiverse.”

Directed by Jon Watts from a script written by Chris McKenna and Erik Sommers, Spider-Man: No Way Home stars Tom Holland, Zendaya, Jacob Batalon, Tony Revolori, Martin Starr, J.B. Smoove, Marisa Tomei, Jon Favreau, Benedict Wong, Benedict Cumberbatch, Willem Dafoe, Alfred Molina, Jamie Foxx, Thomas Haden Church, and Rhys Ifans with Tobey Maguire and Andrew Garfield heavily rumored to appear.
