Marvel Studios President Kevin Feige shared his thoughts on a potential MCU & DC crossover.

James Gunn has had the privilege of directing films for both the MCU and the DC Extended Universe. Starting off with his two Guardians of the Galaxy films and followed by his excellent The Suicide Squad, the writer/director has showcased his sensibilities at both Marvel Studios and Warner Bros. Kevin Feige is quite pleased with James Gunn’s work, and some fans are curious to see where the writer/director’s future is headed with both franchises.

While promoting The Suicide Squad, James Gunn caught fans’ attention when he mentioned that he brought up the possible idea of an MCU and DC crossover. Obviously, there are numerous hurdles regarding the possibility, but the sheer idea of it excites him. Interestingly enough, Kevin Feige was asked about that prospect, and whether he’d be down for a Marvel Studios collaboration with DC Films.

While promoting Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings, Kevin Feige told comicbook.com the following regarding an MCU and DC crossover:

“Well, look, my standard answer to things are ‘never say never.’ I never thought we’d get this far. James has not brought that up, James is deep in Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3, that will begin filming before the end of this year. Having finished the spectacular The Suicide Squad and selling that movie, he’s well underway of prep on Guardians 3.”

Kevin Feige attributes the inspiration for much of Marvel Studios’ films successes to the template established from Richard Donner’s Superman: The Movie, which he commemorated in his tribute to the filmmaker following his passing earlier this year. In regards to a possible crossover between the MCU and DC, it would certainly be a crossover unlike anything we’ve seen before on such a scale – akin to the iconic 1988 film, Who Framed Roger Rabbit, which brought legendary cartoon characters from different studios together onscreen for the first time.

DC’s latest film, The Suicide Squad is now playing in theaters and on HBO Max. Meanwhile, Marvel Studios’ next film is Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings. Here is the synopsis:

Here is the synopsis for Shang-Chi and the Legend of The Ten Rings:
