Kevin Smith’s ‘The Flash’ Episode Is Titled ‘Killer Frost’

The Flash will be getting another visit from geeky filmmaker Kevin Smith in the third season after he directed his first episode in Season 2. Earlier today, Smith tweeted out the title page of the script for 3.07 which is starting production today in Vancouver, Canada, While the title is hidden by a pen, if you look very, very closely at the top through the page, you can see the line “307 – “Killer Frost”.

What this means for Caitlin Snow (Danielle Panabaker) remains to be seen as we saw her Earth-2 version last season as the villainous ice queen who got murdered by Zoom (Teddy Sears) towards the end of the season. Could this mean that we will see our Earth-1 version of Caitlin become her comic book counterpart after all? Anything is possible with this show, but it’s safe to assume that in one way or another, this episode will most likely be a very heavy Caitlin episode. This is also the last episode before the big crossover event between The Flash, Arrow, Legends of Tomorrow and Supergirl.

“Blinded by anger, Barry unwittingly plays into Zoom’s game and uncovers the evil speedster’s true goal: to destroy all Earths in the multiverse. In the race of his life, Barry ultimately gets the upper hand against Zoom and defeats his nemesis. But unable to celebrate victory, Barry makes a world-shaking decision and speeds back in time to the night his mother died to stop Reverse Flash from killing her, irrevocably changing his past and redetermining his future.”

The Flash Season 3 is set to kick-off on Tuesday, October 4 at 8/7c on The CW with the Season 3 premiere titled “Flashpoint”.

Prediction – remember how the exec producers said that even once Barry reverses his Flashpoint-kickstarting decision (presumably 4-5 episodes into Season Three), there’ll still be *irreversible* consequences reverberating throughout the run?
My guess would be that however much Barry tries to undo whatever damage he may well have caused to Caitlin’s timeline by saving his mother’s life, her Earth-1 transformation into Killer Frost becomes an inevitability in *any* timeline going forward as a result.
Talk about a surefire way to give our hero a guilty conscience (AGAIN)…

    • Except for the guiltiness part, that sounds like a great idea. Barry needs to keep his spirits up this season (and beyond).

The only time he’s good at directing. When he’s doing what other people tell him

  • This is probably because Killer Frost is popular, and also to make up for the fact that Caitlin was hardly in his last episode. It could be a flashback episode, or it could be that she wasn’t killed in the post-Flashpoint timeline. We’ll just have to see.
