Kiersey Clemons On Being Compared To Iris West

Kiersey Clemons, who was cast last year as the love interest of Ezra Miller's Flash, weighs in on how she feels being compared to the character.

Kiersey Clemons is a fan of her new character, it appears!

There has been much buzz about the solo endeavours that are set to follow the highly anticipated ensemble movie Justice League. It’s likely to be a change-up from what audiences are used to – namely, seeing the origins of our superheroes. The Marvel Cinematic Universe had a handful of origin stories before the ultimate assembling of the Avengers, whereas the DC Extended Universe are dropping cinemagoers straight into the first adventure of their flagship motley crew. It makes sense in a way – we’ve already seen the rise and fall (and rise again) of the main trio, or we will have once Wonder Woman is released. Plus, it’s better to leave people wanting more, and that will undoubtedly be the case once fans get a taste of the big-screen versions of the Flash, Aquaman and Cyborg.

The Flash, which will star Ezra Miller as the eponymous speedster, is scheduled to hit theatres in March of next year. In June 2016, Rick Famuyiwa was slated to direct, and news of casting decisions began to trickle onto social media soon after – an example is Kiersey Clemons, who will be playing Barry’s love interest, Iris West. Famuyiwa has since departed the project, but it seems Clemons is fully immersed in the idea of becoming Iris, recently tweeting her delight about being compared to her character:

She also tweeted, somewhat thoughtfully, afterwards:

While it may be worrying that The Flash movie is rapidly approaching without someone to helm it, we can at least rest easy knowing the cast is more on board than anyone. Ezra Miller’s effusive comments on the film are well documented, as well!

Ezra Miller will appear as Barry Allen/The Flash in Justice League, which is directed by Zack Snyder. It also stars Ben Affleck, Henry Cavill, Gal Gadot, Jason Momoa and Ray Fisher. It will be released on November 17th.
