‘The Witcher’ Adds Kim Bodnia To Join Henry Cavill For Season Two

Netflix has announced that Kim Bodnia has joined the cast of the second season of Henry Cavill’s The Witcher.

As production on the second season of The Witcher continues, the Henry Cavill series has now added actor Kim Bodnia to the cast in the role of Vesemir. In The Witcher lore, Vesemir is the oldest and most experienced witcher itcher at Kaer Morhen and Netflix’s description of Kim Bodnia’s version of the character confirms he will play a similar role in the Henry Cavill series:

“A charming relic of the witcher Golden Age, Vesemir is the oldest and most experienced witcher in our series, as well as a father figure to Geralt. As one of the survivors of The Massacre at Kaer Morhen, a haunting slaughter that nearly exterminated the Witchers, he is fiercely protective of the remaining few, who he sees as an endangered community who can find glory on ‘the Path’ slaying monsters.

Showrunner Lauren Schmidt Hissrich made the following statement on Kim Bodnia’s casting:

“Iam so thrilled to welcome Kim Bodnia to the cast of ‘The Witcher.’ I have admired his unique talents in shows like Killing Eve and The Bridge, and cannot wait for him to bring strength, tenacity, and warmth to the character of Vesemir, who is such an integral part of our upcoming season.

Kim Bodnia joins returning The Witcher cast members Henry Cavill as Geralt of Rivia, Anya Chalotra as Yennefer, Freya Allan as Ciri, Joey Batey as Jaskier, MyAnna Buring as Tissaia, Tom Canton as Filavandrel, Lilly Cooper as Murta, Jeremy Crawford as Yarpin Zigrin, Eamon Farren as Cahir, Mahesh Jadu as Vilgefortz, Terence Maynard as Artorius, Lars Mikkelson as Stregobor, Mimi Ndiweni as Fringilla Vigo, Royce Pierrseson as Istredd, Wilson Radjou-Pujalte as Dara, Anna Shaffer as Triss Merigold, and Therica Wilson Read as Sabrina, Yasen Atour as Coen, Agnes Bjorn as Vereena, Paul Bullion as Lambert, Thue Ersted Rasmussen as Eskel, Aisha Fabienne Ross as Lydia, Mecia Simson as Francesca, and Game of Thrones alum Kristofer Hivju as Nivellen.
