A new rumor that Game of Thrones star Kit Harington would be playing the titular role in Matt Reeves’ upcoming DC solo movie The Batman has now been debunked.

Ever since Ben Affleck stepped down as director of The Batman early last year, rumors have been flying around about whether or not he even play the Caped Crusader on the big screen again. The rumors kicked into high gear once Affleck entered rehab this year.

Some fans seem to think that Affleck’s road to recovery could keep him from playing Batman again, though nothing has been officially said by the actor or the studio. The latest casting rumor suggested that Game of Thrones star Kit Harington would be playing the Caped Crusader in Matt Reeves’ film. According to Entertainment Weekly’s James Hibberd, this latest rumor is just another false alarm.

If you weren’t a fan of Harington donning the cape and cowl, don’t worry, as it seems that the casting is nothing more than just a rumor. In fact, Harington didn’t even know about the rumor until he was asked whether or not it was true, according to Hibberd’s tweet.

It’s been almost a year since Justice League hit theaters and fans are clamoring for more adventures featuring the iconic DC Comics heroes on the big screen.
