Kristen Stewart has shared her thoughts on Robert Pattinson’s casting as Bruce Wayne in The Batman.
This past June, The Batman director Matt Reeves confirmed that Twilight Robert Pattinson has signed on to star in The Batman, replacing Ben Affleck. Now, Robert Pattinson’s Twilight co-star and ex-girlfriend Kristen Stewart has commented on the actor’s casting as the next live-action Caped Crusader.
During an interview with Variety at the Toronto International Film Festival, Kristen Stewart described The Batman star Robert Pattinson as “the only guy that could play that part” and said that she’s “happy for him.” You can check out the interview below.

Kristen Stewart shared the screen with Robert Pattinson in the five Twilight movies that were released between 2008 and 2012. The two also dated for four years, parting ways in May 2013.
Plot details for The Batman are being kept under wraps. Previous rumors once pointed to an earlier version of the script featuring Ben Affleck bookending the movie as his current Batman while it introduced a younger version of the iconic character, played by Robert Pattinson. But with Ben Affleck retired from the role, Robert Pattinson has officially replaced the Batman v Superman and Justice League star as Batman.
While details are slim, Matt Reeves has confirmed that his movie is not based on Frank Miller’s Year One comic and will emphasize the hero as the world’s greatest detective more than previous films have in the past. It is expected to be the first chapter in a new Batman trilogy starring Robert Pattinson.
The Batman arrives in theaters on June 25, 2021. Stay tuned for the latest news on Kristen Stewart, Robert Pattinson and the future of the DC Extended Universe.
