‘Krypton’: Emmett Scanlan Shares Image Of Lobo In Superman Prequel Series

Syfy network’s Krypton is back for a second season and just recently, Warner Bros. announced that the next villain will fan-favorite Lobo, played by Emmett Scanlan.

Constantine star Emmett Scanlan will play the iconic DC bounty hunter in the Superman prequel series and he recently shared a new look at the character. DC fans have been clamoring for a Lobo movie for quite a while but instead, Emmett Scanlan will bring the character to life on the SYFY channel original series that takes place long before Kal-El became Superman.

Krypton isn’t the first time that fans have visited Clark Kent on the small screen before his adventures as Superman. Before even Arrow took over The CW, Smallville featured Tom Welling as a young Clark Kent that eventually went on to don the Superman costume in the series’ controversial final episode.  Check out Emmett Scanlan channeling his dark side as Lobo in the Instagram post below.

The character Lobo began as a villain in the comics before eventually being reborn in the ’90s as a popular anti-hero. Considering how successful 20th Century Fox has been with their anti-heroes Wolverine and Deadpool, it doesn’t seem like such a bad idea for Lobo to be brought more into the limelight than ever before.

We’ll be sure to keep you updated on all news regarding Krypton as soon as more information becomes available. What are your thoughts on Emmett Scanlan as Lobo? Would you want to see him go toe-to-toe against heroes like Superman or Aquaman? Let us know your thoughts and concerns in the comments below!
