Good for Kumail!

Eternals producer Nate Moore revealed that Kumail Nanjiani got “too” big for the MCU film.

While Eternals is set to be one of the most expansive and unique films the Marvel Cinematic Universe has ever produced, one of the reasons why fans are so excited to watch it is because of star Kumail Nanjiani’s insane body transformation. Nanjiani quickly got into tip-top superhero shape when he was announced to star as Kingo in Chloe Zhao’s MCU epic. The Silicon Valley actor’s transformation was so shocking that it broke the internet for a while, and he even got offered a gig as a stripper.

It turns out that Kumail Nanjiani transformed a bit too much. During ScreenRant’s visit to the Eternals set in 2020, producer Nate Moore touched upon the comedian’s radical body change and how he has to tell the star to stop getting so jacked after a certain point.

“I will say this because this is the truth; we were like, ‘Hey Kumail, don’t worry about it. You don’t have to get in a ton, like, this isn’t the movie where we have to work out a ton.’ But he wanted to do it and it got to some point [where] I had to call him. I said, ‘Kumail, I think you got too big,’ because we saw him, I think on Kimmel or something. He’s a movie star. He’s not a bodybuilder and we had to pull Kumail back… He was so excited to be in the movie, he was just invested. But yeah, he got big. I’ve been in the gym with him, it is very intimidating.”

That’s perhaps the best compliment anyone can receive when it comes to their body! Kumail Nanjiani is set to play Kingo in the expansive epic that takes place over 7,000 years. Nanjiani’s Eternals is able to project and throw cosmic energy. The character eventually becomes a prolific Bollywood actor, which should make for some interesting scenes come November 5.

Here is the synopsis for Eternals:

“The story takes place across two time periods. One storyline is set in the past when they operated as a formidable team and a close family unit. The second storyline is in the present, when the group has fractured and split apart, content to live among humans, hiding in plain sight. The prevailing threat of the Deviants, which once again threatens the existence of mankind, means the Eternals need to put their differences aside and regroup.”

Chloe Zhao directs Eternals from a script she co-wrote with Patrick Burleigh, Kaz Firpo, and Ryan Firpo. The cast of the Marvel Studios project includes Gemma Chan as Sersi, Richard Madden as Ikaris, Kumail Nanjiani as Kingo, Lia McHugh as Sprite, Brian Tyree Henry as Phastos, Lauren Ridloff as Makkari, Barry Keoghan as Druig, Don Lee as Gilgamesh, Kit Harington as Dane Whitman, Salma Hayek as Ajak and Angelina Jolie as Thena.

Eternals will hit theaters on November 5, 2021. Stay tuned for all the latest news on the upcoming MCU film and be sure to subscribe to Heroic Hollywood’s YouTube channel for more original video content.
