Actress Lauren Ridloff noted the parallels between her roles in The Walking Dead and Marvel Studios’ The Eternals.
Marvel Studios’ The Eternals will introduce Makkari to the MCU with the actress Lauren Ridloff in the role. Best known for her role as Connie in AMC’s The Walking Dead, Lauren Ridloff will be the first deaf performer to portray a superhero in a major Hollywood blockbuster.
Last night, The Walking Dead returned with the mid-season premiere of its tenth season and Lauren Ridloff was on-hand to point out the similarities between Connie and Makkari during her appearance on Talking Dead. Through an ASL interpreter, Lauren Ridloff noted that her characters in The Walking Dead and The Eternals are both strong women who work within a larger group:
“It’s so exciting! I really love how the characters have this parallel. Both of them are such strong women, they’re kick-ass women. And working within the bigger ensemble, they’re not working alone. They’re part of ensemble groups and communities, so I love the parallels between [Connie and] my Eternals character Makkari.”
The Walking Dead also stars Norman Reedus, Melissa McBride, Danai Gurira, Josh McDermitt, Christian Serratos, Seth Gilliam, Ross Marquand, Jeffrey Dean Morgan, Khary Payton, Cooper Andrews, Callan McAuliffe, Nadia Hilker, Eleanor Matsuura, Cailey Fleming, Cassady McClincy, Ryan Hurst, and Samantha Morton as Alpha. Fans can watch The Walking Dead at 9:00 pm ET on AMC.
