Laurence O’Fuarain Joins Netflix’s ‘The Witcher: Blood Origin’ Series

Vikings star Laurence O’Fuarain has joined Netflix’s The Witcher: Blood Origin series in a leading role.

Netflix has added yet another star to its roster for The Witcher prequel series, titled Blood Origin. The show will focus on the creation of the very first Witcher on the continent, while also revealing the events of the ‘conjunction of the spheres’ which sees the realms of man, elves and monsters all converge. Vikings actor Laurence O’Fuarain joins Queen & Slim star Jodie Turner-Smith in the upcoming series in a leading role.

As per Deadline, the Irish actor will play Fjall, a warrior sworn to protect the King who harbors the grief and guilt of losing a loved one on the battlefield. Audiences have seen Laurence O’Fuarain as Hakon in Vikings as well as a brief appearance as Simpson in Game of Thrones season five. Production is currently underway on The Witcher season two, but filming has yet to begin on Blood Origin.

Based on the best-selling fantasy series, The Witcher is an epic tale of fate and family. The Witcher stars Henry Cavill as Geralt of Rivia, Freya Allan as Ciri, Anya Chalotra as Yennefer, Jodhi May as Queen Calanthe, Bjorn Hlynur Haraldsson as Eist, Adam Levy as Mousesack, MyAnna Buring as Aretuza, and Millie Brady as Princess Renfri, with Mimi Ndiweni and Therica Wilson-Read as novice sorcerers.
