‘Legends Of Tomorrow’ Just Lost A Longtime Cast Member Ahead Of Season 8

Goodbye, Legend.

DC Legends of Tomorrow

A key cast member will be departing Legends of Tomorrow ahead of season 8.

The CW has continued to expand its slate of DC content throughout the years, with one of the most popular shows being Legends of Tomorrow. The irreverent series has earned considerable praise for its wacky storylines that evolve the larger DC mythos. All of that wouldn’t be possible without its cast, which has grown considerably since it first started in 2016.

Last night saw the finale of the show’s seventh season, a milestone that many series hope to achieve. And while Legends of Tomorrow will most likely continue to dominate the airwaves, a key cast member will be leaving the series, making the season 7 finale their final appearance.

TVLine reports that Nick Zano, who has been consistently appearing as Citizen Steel, is set to call it curtains on the character he has been since season 2. The season 7 finale saw the character lose his powers during the World War I mission. It’s currently unclear if Legends of Tomorrow will receive a season 8, but the shocking seventh season finale ended as the perfect send-off to Nick Zano’s Citizen Steel.

Legends of Tomorrow executive producer Keto Shimizu opened up about Zano’s departure, praising him for this commitment to the series throughout the years.

“It felt like it was time. It was sort of a natural time to say goodbye to this character. We feel so lucky to have had this wonderful span of six years of developing this character and working with such a talented man.”

Here’s the synopsis for the season finale, which aired last night, March 2:

“SEASON FINALE — The Legends are all disappointed and hurt by Gideon’s (Amy Pemberton) actions, but Gideon is horrified when AI Gideon tells her about Gary (Adam Tsekhman). Itching to get back to doing what they love best, they realize that Gwyn (Matt Ryan) has broken the treaty and must find him. Meanwhile, Sara (Caity Lotz) keeps an important secret from Ava (Jes Mccallan) because she doesn’t know how she will react. Nick Zano, Tala Ashe, Olivia Swann, Lisseth Chavez and Shayan Sobhian also star. Kevin Mock directed the episode written by Phil Klemmer & Keto Shimizu.”

The future of DC’s Legends of Tomorrow is unknown. Should the series be renewed for an eighth season, fans will be able to watch it on The CW. Stay tuned to Heroic Hollywood for all the latest news regarding the Arrowverse and subscribe to our YouTube channel for more video content in the future!
