Leonardo DiCaprio replaces Joaquin Phoenix as The Joker in an awesome piece of fan art.
There’s still a few weeks to go before Joaquin Phoenix takes the world by storm in Todd Phillips’ Joker, but it’s always interesting to picture other actors in the iconic role to imagine what their version of the Joker would turn out like. One name that’s come up a few times is Academy Award winner Leonardo DiCaprio. However, Todd Phillips recently debunked a rumor that Leonardo DiCaprio was the first choice for the role in Joker, stating the film was written with Joaquin Phoenix in mind.
Although Todd Phillips denies that Leonardo DiCaprio was ever in the running for the role, a stunning piece of art by digital artist Dalton Barrett imagines the actor as the Joker. The art seemingly takes inspiration from the Joker’s white and purple suit from Frank Miller’s classic graphic novel The Dark Knight Returns. While it’s quite clearly Leonardo DiCaprio, the Joker’s iconic smile makes the actor look truly unhinged. Check out the artwork featuring Leonardo DiCaprio below.

Director Todd Phillips “Joker” centers around the iconic arch nemesis and is an original, standalone fictional story not seen before on the big screen.
