Leslie Grace finally released a statement regarding Batgirl‘s recent cancellation by Warner Bros. Discovery.

Shockwaves were sent across the entertainment industry on Tuesday after news broke that Warner Bros. would not release Batgirl theatrically or on HBO Max. The film recently completed principal photography, but Warner Bros. has come out and shared that Batgirl‘s cancellation is part of the studio’s new strategy under the leadership of new CEO David Zaslav.

There’s also word that the $90 million film was not worth putting out due to its lack of quality. The Batgirl film was set to star In

the Heights‘ Leslie Grace as Barbara Gordon and also feature the return of Michael Keaton as Batman.

Leslie Grace Speaks

Earlier today, Batgirl directors Adil El Arbi and Bilall Fallah shared a statement addressing the news and expressing their desire to see the DC film released down the line. Warner Bros. is reportedly keen on not releasing the movie so they can receive tax write-offs. The film’s star, Leslie Grace, has now commented on Batgirl no longer seeing the light of day.
