Batgirl will release on HBO Max this year.

The directors of DC’s upcoming Batgirl, Adil El Arbi and Bilall Fallah, have shared images from the set of the film to mark the end of production.

The behind-the-scenes images, uploaded to Instagram, show the directors on set and accompanying a fully Bat-suited Leslie Grace, who will be playing the titular hero in the new movie. The directors are also shown, in a separate image, donning their own Batman cowls on the set of the film. Currently, little is known about what to expect from this upcoming entry to the DCEU, but it has been confirmed that Leslie Grace will be playing the classic Barabra Gordon version of the character.

Reprising his role as Barbara’s father, Commissioner Jim Gordon, is J.K. Simmons, who was last seen in the role in Justice League (both the theatrical version and last year’s Snyder Cut). While Simmons was last seen opposite Ben Affleck’s Batman, it has been confirmed that Michael Keaton will be appearing as Batman in Batgirl, reprising the role he originally played in 1989’s Batman. Keaton is also set to appear as the Dark Knight in The Flash later this year, which may explain his appearance in Batgirl. Check out the directors’ posts below:

Batgirl is due to release on HBO Max later this year. While an exact release date is yet to be confirmed, if Michael Keaton’s involvement will indeed follow on from his appearance in The Flash, then Batgirl may not arrive until towards the end of the year.
