Rob Liefeld Excited For Fan Reaction To Josh Brolin As Cable

Cable Marvel Comics Deadpool

Rob Liefeld has reason to be happy today, as fans got their first-look at Cable in the upcoming Deadpool 2.

In an interview withย The Hollywood Reporter,ย Liefeld shared his enthusiasm over the positive fan reactions to the images released by Ryan Reynolds. Liefeld said:

โ€œThis is great! No one is having a better day than me! Let me assure you!โ€

The Deadpool co-creator is no stranger to first-look reactions, having helped to create numerous characters that have been adapted to the screen over the years. The reveal of Josh Brolin as Cable follows last weekโ€™s first-look at Zazie Beetzโ€™s Domino. Liefeld went on to say that seeing the love that the fans are giving Cableโ€™s new look makesย him extremely happy. Check out the quote below:

โ€œIโ€™ve seen when fans give their thumbs up and their thumbs down. Their condemnation and their praise. Josh as Cable, itโ€™s been 100 percent euphoria, praise, excitement.โ€

Liefeld also discussed Brolin being a part of both Deadpool 2 and Avengers: Infinity War. He expects Brolin to have a pretty good summer when both films are released next year.

โ€œBetween him being ushered through the Kevin Feige regime and the protection and the special care they are going to take care of him with Thanos, and then over here with Ryan and [director] David Leitch and Fox ushering him as Cable, Iโ€™m not sure anybody is going to have a better four weeks next year.โ€

The sequel starsย Ryan Reynolds as Wade Wilson/Deadpool, Zazie Beetz as Domino, Josh Brolin as Nathan Summers/Cable, Brianna Hildebrand as Negasonic Teenage Warhead, Stefan Kapicic as Piotr Rasputin/Colossus, Morena Baccarin as Vanessa Carlysle, T.J. Miller as Weasel, Leslie Uggams as Blind Al, and Karan Soni as Dopinder.

Other franchise newcomers confirmed forย the sequel includeย Julian Dennison,ย Jack Kesy and Shioli Kutsuna in undisclosed roles.
