Director James Mangold has confirmed that the critically acclaimed Logan, Hugh Jackman’s final outing as the clawed mutant hero Wolverine will be returning to theaters on May 16 in black and white only.
Mangold made the announcement this afternoon on Twitter. You can read the tweet below.
Suggestion. Hard core B&W loving LOGAN fans should not make any plans on the evening of May 16th.

A black and white version of the film is very exciting for fans of Logan. 20th Century Fox saw a positive response last fall when the studio kicked off the social media campaign with a slew of moody black and white stills from the film. Mangold also confirmed that the home release will include the black and white version as well.
Logan stars Hugh Jackman, Sir Patrick Stewart, Dafne Keen, Stephen Merchant, Richard E. Grant, Eriq LaSalle, Elizabeth Rodriguez, and Boyd Holbrook. Here’s the official synopsis:
“In the near future, a weary Logan cares for an ailing Professor X in a hide out on the Mexican border. But Logan’s attempts to hide from the world and his legacy are up-ended when a young mutant arrives, being pursued by dark forces.”
